CIPD Launches new qualification

The CIPD is launching the new Advanced Certificate in Reward Management in recognition of the increasingly specialised nature of reward within the wider discipline of human resources management. It has been developed for professionals working in all sectors including private, public and not-for-profit.

Reward management according to the CIPD is the core issue facing many organizations, and it is now essential for those who want to rise to the top of the profession to have reward management expertise.

An increasing number of organizations are adopting a strategic approach to reward management, incorporating both financial and non financial elements, as more employees look for better balance between work and life and more legislation requires employers to show that they do not discriminate in the way they reward employees.

Reward managers are now not only required to be able to conduct reviews of reward systems, their benefits packages and their pension schemes. They must now also be proficient communicators, ensuring that the value of the rewards strategy is understood on the shop floor and in the board room.

The new certificate has been designed by the CIPD to show reward managers that they need to consider all aspects of reward to ensure they select a system to fit with overall business aims and objectives. Students on the course will learn the importance of examining the environment, history and culture of an organisation in order to develop a scheme that fully meets the needs of both the organisation and its people."

Certificate modules and resources will include:

  • Base and Variable Pay
    Benefits, Pensions and Share
    Reward in Context
CIPD Reward at Work resources and faculty

Members of the Work Place Learning Centre team are available to provide journalists and media organisations with expert comment on all aspects of learning at work.
